2023 年 11 月 29 日に Storybook 7.6 がリリースされました。
Storybook 8 に向けたパフォーマンスや UX の改善が行われています。Webpack プロジェクトでは、Babel から SWC へ移行することで、start time が 50%以上短縮されます。

};テストの改善も行われています。@storybook/test は Jest ではなく Vitest の expect を利用するようになりました。またテストモード --testにより、docgen 分析の実行やドキュメントのコンパイルなどを省いてテストを実行することが出来るようになりました。

SWC minifier
デフォルトの minifier が Terser から SWC に変更されました。動作は約 7 倍高速であり、出力サイズは同等以下とのことです。Terser 設定ファイルやオプションをほぼそのまま利用できるようになっているそうです。
Local plugin
プラグインを parcelrc 設定ファイルから相対パスで参照できるようになりました。これにより新しいプラグインのプロトタイピングが容易になったので、今後プラグインの開発がより活性化するといいですね。
New resolver
Parcel に欠けていた package.json の”exports”や tsconfig.json の”baseUrl”、“paths”、“moduleSuffixes”のサポートを追加した Rust 製の新しいリゾルバが導入されました。
ESM plugins and configs
Parcel は、ESM モジュールに対するプラグインと設定ファイルのサポートを追加しました。これにより、プラグインを mjs 形式で npm に公開したり、package.json で”type”: “module”を使用して js ファイルで ESM 構文を有効にしたりできます。また、postcss.config.mjs などの設定ファイルもサポートされています。

Hi there. I'm hrdtbs, a frontend expert and technical consultant. I started my career in the creative industry over 13 years ago, learning on the job as a 3DCG modeler and game engineer in the indie scene.
In 2015 I began working as a freelance web designer and engineer. I handled everything from design and development to operation and advertising, delivering comprehensive solutions for various clients.
In 2016 I joined Wemotion as CTO, where I built the engineering team from the ground up and led the development of core web and mobile applications for three years.
In 2019 I joined matsuri technologies as a Frontend Expert, and in 2020 I also began serving as a technical manager supporting streamers and content creators.
